From a sketch, a technical sheet or a garment you want copied, we draft every piece of the pattern so a factory can cut it without guessing.

A pattern is where most production problems start or stop. A missing notch or a seam that doesn't match its partner shows up later as a garment that won't sew together, or a fit that changes from one batch to the next.
We draft each piece with seam allowances, notches, grain lines and labels, and walk the seams so the pieces meet. If you have a technical sheet with measurements, we work to it. If you only have a sketch or a sample, we take the measurements from it and agree them with you first.
Most designers follow the pattern with a first sample, so you can check the fit on a real garment before you grade it into sizes.
What to send us
- A sketch, a technical sheet or photos of the garment from the front, back and side
- A sample to copy, if you have one (by courier)
- The base size and the measurements you want
- The fabric you plan to use, as it changes how the pattern is cut

- The full pattern in your base size, every piece labelled
- Seam allowances, notches and grain lines on each piece
- Printed card patterns or digital files, as you prefer
- A spare pattern or a printed card set if you need one (£100 to £250)
Questions about pattern cutting
Can you copy a garment I already have?
Yes. Send it by courier and we take the pattern from it, then agree any changes with you before drafting.
Do I get the pattern on card or as a file?
Either. We can print a card set for the cutting room or send digital files your factory can open and plot.
Can you make changes after the first sample?
Yes. Fit changes found on the sample are made on the pattern before it is graded into sizes.
